What is Chashavshavon?
- Chashavshavon is a Halachic calendar application to keep track of all the
dates necessary for a married Jewish women to keep a Jewish home.
- The program includes extensive options and Halachic settings and should
be configured under rabbinic guidance.
- Program use is by creating files, each of which contain a set of entries and Kavuah
information. These files are actual Windows files, with the file suffix of ".pm".
- The program contains multiple calendar view options to display and save problematic
dates. The program automatically calculates these dates within the current file
according to the Halachic settings in use.
- The program has a feature to automatically calculate possible Kavuah sets
within the current file.

Kavuah settings can be exported from one file to another.
- The program also has the option to save a file online on the Chashavshavon server.
- These online files can be opened, edited and saved directly from within the application.
- File entries and Kavuahs can also be viewed from a web browser at the web
address www.chashavshavon.org.
- This feature is useful for a rabbi to view a set of entries upon which to base a
Halachic decision.
